work

I've had the pleasure of being able to work with many major brands to collaborate on social media campaigns and events. I recently completed a social media campaign with U By Kotex, encouraging my social media audience to buy a value pack from Walmart by U By Kotex. I have also collaborated with brands like Secret Deodorant  Mean Stinks and Teen Vogue to bring awareness to worldly issues like girl-on-girl bullying and to pledge to bring an end to it. I participated as a Teen Vogue "It" Girl to create a Back To School Saturday's party that incorporated all sponsored brands of the magazine. I also collaborated with Della LA, a socially responsible fashion brand that works with women in Ghana, West Africa to create textiles and products to be sold across the country. Part of the sales of these products are then given back to the women to help them build a foundation for their family, their journey through education and also building a skill set. I received a credit from Everlane to try out their clothes (when the company first started, a few years ago) and promote their Radical Transparency motto. Everlane is a brand that focuses on giving their consumers all of the information about the production of the clothes that they are purchasing. I am currently working on Distressed Magazine issue 2, starting my own stationary business and being an intern at Carolina STYLE magazine. Many of the collaborations listed above can be found on my instagram (@raniabolton).

Academically, I have been involved with many projects and presentations throughout my 3.5 years of being in school. I have completed projects on research for internships, research and presentation on Integrated Marketing Communications of major companies like Gap Inc. and the completion of a Six Month Merchandising Plan, as well as research on the Quality Analysis of cotton versus polyester leggings. I received the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund scholarship in 2016 based on a case study of the company Birchbox and attended the National Retail Foundation's Student Program as a nominee of UNCG.

I have taken classes on Buying and Merchandising; Quality Analysis of Consumer Goods; The Psychology of Human Behavior and Dress; Sociology; Communications; Culture, Human Behavior and Clothing; Visual Merchandising; Advanced Retail Analysis and  a multitude of others. These classes are a broad spectrum of the knowledge that I have gained and retained while attending UNCG which will be useful in the industry that I decide to pursue upon graduation in May.
